These were so moist, chocolatey and delicious! You need to try this recipe! Here's how we made ours:
INGREDIENTS:
For the bacon:
8 strips
1/4 cup of brown sugar
For the brownie mix:
11 oz of dark chocolate
1 cup of softened unsalted butter
1 1/2 cups of sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
5 large eggs
2 Tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour
1 Tsp of salt
2 Tbs of dark unsweetened cocoa powder
Caramel sauce for drizzling
DIRECTIONS:
Put your bacon in a ziplock bag and add the 1/4 cup of brown sugar.
Mix until well coated.
Place bacon strips on a baking rack
Place in a 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes (depending upon the thickness of your bacon)
Remove, let cool and chop into small bite sized pieces
In a mixing bowl, whisk the flour, salt and cocoa powder together
Break up the chocolate into small pieces
Slice butter into small pads
In a microwavable bowl, combine the chocolate and unsalted butter
Microwave the two in 30 second increments until totally melted. Stir
Add the sugars, mix well and let cool
Once cool, add 3 of the 5 eggs and mix with a spatula
Fold the flour mixture into the chocolate mix
Grease a 9" x 13" pan with butter, then line it with parchment paper
Pour half of the mixture into the pan
Drizzle the caramel sauce and then sprinkle half of your bacon on top
Top it with the second half of the brownie mixture
Repeat caramel sauce and bacon sprinkles
Place in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Rotate at the 15 minute mark
Bake until toothpick comes out pretty clean
Let cool completely and cut into squares
Serve and enjoy!
