We made Bacon Caramel Brownies

These were so moist, chocolatey and delicious! You need to try this recipe! Here's how we made ours:



INGREDIENTS:

For the bacon:

  • 8 strips

  • 1/4 cup of brown sugar

For the brownie mix:

  • 11 oz of dark chocolate

  • 1 cup of softened unsalted butter

  • 1 1/2 cups of sugar

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar

  • 5 large eggs

  • 2 Tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/4 cups of all purpose flour

  • 1 Tsp of salt

  • 2 Tbs of dark unsweetened cocoa powder

  • Caramel sauce for drizzling


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Put your bacon in a ziplock bag and add the 1/4 cup of brown sugar.

  2. Mix until well coated.

  3. Place bacon strips on a baking rack

  4. Place in a 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes (depending upon the thickness of your bacon)

  5. Remove, let cool and chop into small bite sized pieces

  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk the flour, salt and cocoa powder together

  7. Break up the chocolate into small pieces

  8. Slice butter into small pads

  9. In a microwavable bowl, combine the chocolate and unsalted butter

  10. Microwave the two in 30 second increments until totally melted. Stir

  11. Add the sugars, mix well and let cool

  12. Once cool, add 3 of the 5 eggs and mix with a spatula

  13. Fold the flour mixture into the chocolate mix

  14. Grease a 9" x 13" pan with butter, then line it with parchment paper

  15. Pour half of the mixture into the pan

  16. Drizzle the caramel sauce and then sprinkle half of your bacon on top

  17. Top it with the second half of the brownie mixture

  18. Repeat caramel sauce and bacon sprinkles

  19. Place in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes. Rotate at the 15 minute mark

  20. Bake until toothpick comes out pretty clean

  21. Let cool completely and cut into squares
