We decided to add a smoky savory flavor to our salsa by adding bacon and liquid smoke! You can use whatever fresh ingredients you have on hand to change this recipe to your liking! Here's how we made ours:
INGREDIENTS:
6 slices of thick cut bacon
1 roma tomato
1 red tomato
half an onion
half a red bell pepper
half a green bell pepper
a handful of cilantro
some jalapeño (or your favorite hot pepper)
2-3 cloves of garlic
salt and pepper
liquid smoke
INSTRUCTIONS:
Cut your bacon up into pieces and fry. Set on paper towel to drain
Cup up all of the ingredients
Place in food processor and blend together.
Add liquid smoke (about a dash or two)
Serve with your favorite chips, on top of fish, on a taco, etc
